On May 19, 2012 I attended the South Dakota Camera Club Roundup organized by
Chad Coppess at the
1880 Town. It was a two day event, but I was only able to attend on the second day.
The 1880 Town is a tourist attraction located 22 miles west of Murdo, SD on Interstate 90. It features a small 1880 style town built to represent a place from our past. There are many photographic opportunities to be found here with all the authentic buildings, relics, memorabilia. There are also several props from the movie Dances with Wolves.
On the day I attended, the skies were overcast, the wind was blowing, and the temperatures were a bit chilly. (Just like you'd find if you visited a prairie town 130 years ago!)
