The Ring-necked Pheasant is a popular game bird that South Dakota is famous for. Hunters from all over the country come to South Dakota each fall to hunt this colorful bird. It is a hard bird to get close to though with a camera as they generally fly away quickly. However, some times when it's very cold they are not so quick to run away or you just get lucky.
