On January 12, 2016, the State of South Dakota in collaboration with the Republic of Korea, South Dakota's Korean War Veterans were honored with an Ambassador for Peace medal ceremony in Pierre, SD in the Capitol Building Rotunda. The ceremony included remarks from Gov. Dennis Daugaard, SDDVA Secretary Larry Zimmerman, and the Honorable Sungchoon Park, Minister of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MVPA). But Pierre wasn't the only place the ceremony took place. All around South Dakota, whether it be in nursing homes, hospitals, or homes, Korean War Veterans were honored with a medal.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to took photographs of the event. It was wonderful to see all these veterans and inspiring to see South Dakota honor them. This gallery contains photographs of the event hosted in the State Capitol building.
