In September of 2004, the State of South Dakota dedicated a memorial to honor the South Dakota Korean War veterans and that even though they fought and served in the 'Forgotten War', they themselves will never be forgotten. The dedication ceremony was held in Pierre, SD near the Capitol Complex at the edge of Capitol Lake and thousands of South Dakotans attended the dedication ceremonies and activities throughout the day. It was a fitting day of celebration for these forgotten heroes and one that had a personal touch as my dad is a Korean War veteran.

This gallery contains photos taken during this day of celebration. I used an older camera at the time and many photos aren't as good as I would like, but they give you a good feel for some of the festivities and events that occurred that day. I hope you enjoy viewing these photos.
