On April 13, 2013 I was able to attend the Hairball concert at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. I attended as part of a South Dakota Photography club gathering that the Mitchell club has organized. This concert was part of days events for us photographers.
This night was the first real time I had tried photographing a 'concert'. I found it a lot of fun because of the great music and performance from the band! But I found it frustrating as a photographer because of the lighting and the large number of poor photos I got. Regardless of that, I claim this photography event a thorough success! I hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I did taking them!
The Hairball band is a tribute band to the big "80's" rock style bands and make no mistake, these guys are outstanding! They have a neat performance where 3 lead singers rotate on stage while the others are getting into costume. You might not think a tribute band as something to see, but you'd be wrong. The guys in Hairball put on an outstanding show, but what's more impressive is their skill as musicians! I highly recommend checking them out if you enjoy this style music.
