In September of 2006, the State of South Dakota dedicated a memorial to honor the brave South Dakota Vietnam War veterans and to once and for all welcome them home with open arms. The dedication ceremony was held in Pierre, SD near the Capitol Complex at the edge of Capitol Lake. Events occured over a few days with a wide variety of things to see and do. This ceremony was long over due and a fitting welcome home after all these years considering the welcome home these veterans received previously after the war ended.

This gallery contains photos taken during this multi-day of celebration. I used an older camera at the time and many photos aren't as good as I would like, but they give you a good feel for some of the festivities and events that occurred. I hope you enjoy viewing these photos.
