As part of a cultural & musical exchange, the musical group Unni Boksasp Ensemble visited the Pierre & Ft. Pierre area here in South Dakota. This was made possible by the Short Grass Arts Council. They had a week long busy schedule where they visited several of our schools to share their music and culture. At the end of their visit, they gave a public performance at the T.F. Riggs High School theater.
The Unni Boksasp Ensemble is an award winning musical group from Norway. They play and sing traditional & contemporary Norwegian folk music. Their performance was wonderful and of particular interest to myself and many others because of Norwegian heritage we have! I find it a challenge to shoot photos in the Riggs Theater with the lower levels of light. It's a balancing act to expose images there, often resulting in photos that are softer than I would like, but I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed their performance!
