On September 25th and 26th, 2010, the South Dakota Game Fish & Parks Department held the Custer State Park 17th Annual Buffalo Roundup Arts Festival. This festival has grown over the years to attract a wide variety of vendors who sell a wide variety of crafts, art, food, and many other items. This is a popular event that thousands of people attend and this year was no different. There was a wide variety of things to see and do, along with a lot of live entertainment to enjoy.

The Arts Festival led up to the highly anticipated "Buffalo Roundup" in Custer State Park on September 27th. This year was the 45th Annual Buffalo Roundup where another record crowd of many thousands of people gathered to watch modern day cowboys and park employees roundup the Parks' buffalo herd in preparation for the fall auction. The buffalo roundup is quite an event if you have never seen something like this before.

This year was my first year attending the Arts Festival and the Buffalo Roundup. Contained in this gallery is a wide variety of photos of the many sights and images I came across during my 3 days attending. You will see photos of the festival, the roundup, and of the park animals. Even without these events, Custer State Park is a beautiful place to visit and I highly recommend you visit here at least once in your lifetime!
